#WOW Awards

Am literally still buzzing from our #WOW Twitter award on the 12th March. Most of you are probably wondering what I am talking about……

Jacqueline Gold CEO of Anne Summers and Knickerbox runs a weekly twitter competition every Wednesday (hence the #WOW – Women on Wednesday’s) for female entrenpenurs. You tweet her at a certain time on Wednesday using the #WOW hashtag about your business and she will retweet the top three.

The recognition that my little business is doing good is so amazing and we are feeling truly blessed at the moment. Sorry that this is a ‘blow your own trumpet’ post, just feeling really chuffed 🙂

 

PaperCrafter Magazine ♥ Christmas Inspired Sweet Table

We are so happy to be featured in Issue 66 edition of PaperCrafter magazine. We were asked to provide some blue, white and grey products for a vintage sweet inspired Christmas table.

The ‘Perfect Paper Party’ was inspired by a cool and frosty colour scheme. I love the results, what do you think?

We provided polka dot baking cups, paper straws, floral embellishments, paper bags, bakers twine, mini cardboard cake stands, bakers twine, crimped paper shred and our tissue fans. PaperCrafter also asked us to provide some tips and tricks on how to create the perfect vintage inspired spread at home. In case you missed it, here is what we recommend!

♥ Stick to a colour theme and streamline the decorations to give a sense of consistency.

♥ If your creating a vintage feel it can be difficult to achieve a uniformed colour scheme, but that is part of the style! I’ll often display old crockery and service pieces alongside newly-sourced bits.

♥ Is your spread missing something? When in doubt, add flowers. You will be surprised at how they can really finish off a table and they compliment a vintage theme perfectly.

♥ Try using old family recipes that evoke warm and happy memories. It will give you and your guests something to chat and reminisce about.

Did you see us in Homemaker Magazine?

Hello! Did you see us in Homemaker magazine last month? We were so happy to be featured in ‘Gather Friends for a Sweet Occasion’. I have been a BIG fan of Homemaker magazine for sometime so was chuffed to bits to mentioned.

Some of our products to be featured were our paper straws, baking cups and candy bags. I love the colour combination and something I would have never thought of myself; blues, apricots, pinks and teal.

Miss Etoile Autumn / Winter Collection

I have been a big fan of Danish design company ‘Miss Etoile’ for some time. Two weeks ago I headed up to Birmingham to check out the latest products at the Autumn Gift Fair and to my utter delight Miss Etoile were exhibiting! It was a chance to see their products in the flesh and I wasn’t disappointed.

Initially I will stock their cake stands, cake toppers, paper lanterns, confetti, doilies and sweet jars. Too happy! Miss Etoile represent glamour and elegance. The best thing is that the quality of the items is amazing but doesn’t have the price tag to match! Here are a few of my favourite products…..

Etsy Craft Party #scp

…….. #scp = Southampton Craft Party of course. A few weeks ago I was one of the sponsors for an AMAZEBALLS Etsy Craft Party. This was like no other crafternoon or crafty type party that I had seen! It was organised by the extremely talented OH NO Rachio! and Harriet Gray. Let’s just say lots of very cool crafty products, making and the most yummiest spread of food was involved. I was only a little bit jealous that I wasn’t their…. (OK a LOT).

I wanted to share a few photos taken by the participants, but also link back to their blogs and etsy shops. I was really blown away by this talented bunch and I would totally recommend checking them out or following all their updates on Twitter.

Rachel the owner and creator of OH NO RACHIO! Has a beautiful Etsy shop featuring loads of gorgeous notebooks. I’m also eyeing up this lovely cloud pillow for my little ones bedroom. Cuteness!

Lovely Laura who attended the craft party also captured some awesome images of all the fun and festivities! Laura won some sweets and our gold striped paper straws. I am so glad I came across her wonderful blog. Laura writes about a whole host of adventures including lots of DIY tutorials. Love her work, you must check it out 🙂

We are in Crafts Beautiful this month!

Hello lovely people! We are so happy to be featured in the August edition of Crafts Beautiful magazine. Yay go us! Its our first magazine feature, so please excuse the over excitement 🙂

Our orange, yellow and aqua chevron patterned paper straws were featured as well as our mini plastic drink bottles.

Some of our products will also be featured in a cook book which is currently in production and TOP SECRET!

A Wedding Festival with a Difference

Have you visited Penny’s Wedding? You will find lots of amazing inspiration for your wedding day, but not only that she has loads of DIY tips which we are a big an of. Rebecca the creator of Penny’s Wedding is also starting a brand new business, have a look at all the exciting details here!

And to add to the excitement Rebecca is hosting a Wedding Festival. Not the usual wedding fair, but something a little different, a little more special and sparkly.

This fabulous festival takes place on the 1st of May 2013 at Dodmoor House. You can expect to hear live music and see some amazing wedding supplies, live hair and beauty demos, styling demonstration and a whole host of DIY wedding inspiration and……. games on the lawn plus enjoy a pint or two. Wow!

Our online shop is now live!

I am so pleased and excited to announce the launch of our online shop! A common question I get from my clients is ‘where can I buy those jars/ribbon/pom poms?’ Now we are sharing our secret’s by making them all available via our shop!

We have many great products featured already including candy cups (currently only available in the US), sweeties and retro stripe straws. Look out for more products including cake stands, jars and candy scoops. We are importing most of our stock and trying to find unique items that are not stocked in the UK. Stay tuned for some more exciting updates soon.

The launch of The Sweet Hostess!

Hello everyone!

I am so excited to announce the launch of the ‘The Sweet Hostess’. We provide candy buffets and dessert tables for wedding’s, parties, corporate events and any old celebration really! We are based on the Middlesex, Surrey and Berkshire borders so cater for this area (although can provide DIY packages for anyone based in the UK). Please stay tuned to hear about all our news.
